Abbotsford Senior Secondary – Senior Girls Basketball Team AAA Provincial Champions
Students from Abbotsford Senior Secondary’s Girls’ Basketball Team shared their experiences about their exciting season after clinching the AAA Provincial Championship on March 4, 2023 for the second time in four years.
Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD)
The Ministry of Children and Family Development delivered a presentation about the partnership MCFD has with the district as well as how they work to support families within the Abbotsford community.
Education
Updating Strategic Plan and Preliminary Budget for 2023-2024
Superintendent Godden provided the Board with an update regarding the Strategic Plan. An updated timeline was shared in relation to how we will gather feedback from staff, parents, and students in the coming weeks.
District Planning Team: Update on Progress from February 13 & March 6 Meetings
Superintendent Godden provided the Board with an update regarding the last 2 District Planning Team meetings and the intention for future meetings.
2022/23 Special Education Enrolment Compliance Audit Final Report
Superintendent Godden provided the Board with information regarding an audit of the September 2022 FTE enrolment data and service provision of the special education claims reported by the district.
School Fees and Deposits for 2023-2024
A recommendation was put forward THAT the Board of Education approve the list of school fees and deposits for the 2023-24 school year as presented.
Academy Fees for 2023-2024
A recommendation was put forward THAT the Board of Education approve the list of the Academy fees for 2023-2024 as presented.
Operations
Student Transportation Fees
A recommendation was put forward THAT the Board of Education approve the proposed school transportation fees as presented.
Abbotsford Arts Centre - Rental Fees
A recommendation was put forward THAT the Board of Education approve the proposed increase in rental fees for the Abbotsford Arts Centre as presented.
Feed Futures School Food Programs
Secretary-Treasurer Velestuk provided the Board of Education with information about the new Feeding Futures School Food Programs Fund.
Capital Plan Bylaw No. 2023/24-CPSD34-01
A recommendation was put forward THAT the Board of Education approve having all three readings of the Capital Plan Bylaw No. 2023/24-CPSD34-01 in this one meeting.
Naming of School District Fields (Colleen and Gordie Howe / W.J. Mouat) - Committee Update
Trustee Wilson provided the Board of Education with an update on the progress of the field naming committee.
