The Abbotsford School District has a long history of community involvement in our schools, where many individuals and organizations contribute countless hours of volunteer service to enable our students to succeed. The Community Matters Award is presented every June by the Abbotsford Board of Education to organizations or individuals who have exceeded their community service mandate and have made significant, deliberate contributions to Abbotsford School District students.
Manager of Communications, Kayla Stuckart provided a progress report to the Board highlighting achievements related to Strategic Goal 3.1 and other cross-functional projects from the 2022-23 school year.
Patricia La Framboise-Lo, Associate Superintendent, Human Resources, provided a progress report to the Board highlighting achievements related to Strategic Goals 4.1, 4.3, and 4.4 in the 2022-23 school year.
A recommendation was put forward THAT the Board of Education approve the Amended Minor Capital Projects for 2024-2025 as provided on the Five-Year Minor Capital Plan Summary for 2024-2025 submitted to the Ministry of Education and Child Care.
Secretary-Treasurer Velestuk provided the Board of Education with information regarding Trustee Indemnity.
A recommendation was put forward THAT the Board of Education approve the 2024-2025 Budget Calendar as presented.
A recommendation was put forward THAT the Board of Education approve the sponsorship amount of $3,000, targeting youth award, to the 2023 Fraser Valley Cultural Diversity Awards.
