Three Abbotsford educators have been named as finalists for the 2022 Premier’s Awards for Excellence in Education:
Superintendent Godden provides a report that summarizes the efforts of staff to prepare classrooms for student attendance for September 2022.
Superintendent Godden provided the Board with an update regarding the Strategic Plan and the progress toward these goals and how these requirements will be met for the 2022-23 school year.
Linda Peters, Director of Finance provided a progress report to the Board highlighting achievements related to how the Finance Department worked to optimize resources across the district.
Dale Churchill, Director of Facilities, provided a progress report to the Board highlighting achievements related to how the Facilities Department worked to improve the condition and performance of district facilities.
Karman O’Brien, Director of Information Technology, provided a progress report to the Board highlighting achievements related to how the Information Technology Department worked on improving the ethical and innovative use of technology.
Secretary-Treasurer Velestuk provided the Board of Education with an update regarding the consultation processes and what the top priorities that have been identified.
A recommendation was put forward THAT the Board of Education approve the Audited Consolidated Financial Statements for the fiscal year July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022, and approve any inter-fund transfers.
A recommendation was put forward THAT the Board of Education approve the Capital Project Funding Agreement for Auguston Traditional Elementary as executed by the Board Chair and Secretary-Treasurer, dated for reference purposes as July 14, 2022; and THAT the Board of Education approve the Capital Project Funding Agreement for Margaret Stenersen Elementary as executed by the Board Chair and Secretary-Treasurer, dated for reference purposes as July 21, 2022.
A recommendation was put forward THAT the Board of Education approve having all three readings of Property Disposition Bylaw No. 84 in this one meeting.
A recommendation was put forward THAT the Board of Education approve revised Policy 1 – Foundation Statements, as presented.
A recommendation was put forward THAT the Board of Education approve revised Policy 7 - Board Governance and Operations, as presented.
A recommendation was put forward THAT the Board of Education approve the sponsorship amount of $3,000 targeting the youth award, to the 2023 Fraser Valley Cultural Diversity Awards.
