Local School Calendars: 2024-2027

The Abbotsford Board of Education is currently seeking feedback from families, employees, students and the larger community on the proposed school calendars for the next three years - 2024-2025 school year, 2025-2026 school year and 2026-2027 school year. Feedback will be collected via the school district's Engagement Portal until February 9, 2024.

Key details from the proposed calendars:
 

• School begins the day after Labour Day

• Two-week Winter Break

• Two-week Spring Break

• Observance of Statutory Holidays

• Noted Hours of Instruction

• Scheduled Non-instructional days (no classes for students)

The Abbotsford Board of Education is required to create a calendar that meets the legislated requirements of the School Act and the terms of the Abbotsford Teachers’ Union (ATU) Collective Agreement. The proposed options meet the prescribed minimum hours of instruction that a board must offer for each school year.
